Kelly Augustine

Kelly Augustine is a Fashion and Celebrity Stylist, Content Creator, Media Personality, and Lifestyle Expert. The New York City native is a strong advocate for diversity, and has actively pushed for inclusion within the fashion and lifestyle spaces while using her influence to expand the narrow-mindedness of society’s archaic beauty standards.

As a Stylist, Kelly’s work has been featured in Vogue, The New York Times, Parents Magazine, Vanity Fair, Forbes, and The Ellen Show.  Her clients have included Danielle Brooks, Gabourey Sidibe, Liesl Tommy, Robyn Lawley, and many more.

Her colorful personality, trendsetting tendencies, and effortless style have been featured in prominent publications such as Essence Magazine, CRWNmag, Refinery29, Teen Vogue, and The Zoe Report.  Always camera ready, Kelly was recruited for major campaigns including Lane Bryant’s Super Stretch Skinny Jean commercial, Old Navy’s 2021 Inclusion rebrand and NYDJ’s “How to Talk to Your Daughter About Her Body." She was also a judge on the plus size modeling show “Thick House” alongside America’s Next Top Model’s Toccara Jones and Stylist EJ King.

The world is Kelly’s oyster and we’re all waiting to see what new treasures the multifaceted creator has to offer.  An absolute force, she continues to branch out and find new avenues to tackle as she looks to use her platform to create true change.

q & A

Get to Know Kelly

How would you describe your style?

Currently, my style is very comfort chic. Coming out of the pandemic, I refuse to wear clothes that I am not comfortable in. But I like to pick comfortable pieces that are interesting, whether in design, color or fabric.

WHAT'S BEEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR CAREER THUS FAR?

My entire career thus far has been a highlight reel, which I’m so thankful for! But I will say, Danielle Brooks’ wedding was sooo much fun. I have so many stories from that day!

How has access to fashion/evolution of inclusive fashion impacted your own personal style?

I would say inclusive fashion has been more cyclical than evolved, first off. I honestly feel we’ve regressed a bit, but I know what is possible for the future because I’ve seen it! I think the lack of access has definitely been a barrier to the full expression of my style, but am confident there will be better options soon.

What outfit makes you feel the most powerful or the most YOU? How does a great outfit make you feel?

I love a good power suit! I always feel like a woman in control when I have a perfectly tailored suit on, especially if it’s in an interesting cut or print/color.

What are you excited to add to your 2023 wardrobe?

More pieces from sustainable designers, and more thrifted/vintage. I’m currently making an effort to build a closet full of one-off, unique pieces.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE FROM FASHION IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?

True inclusivity with full access. Fashion, as it sits right now, is quite performative. I can’t wait to see full ranges of interesting plus-size clothing across retailers!
